2. Service Description
XRates API provides a RESTful API for accessing currency exchange rate data. The Service includes real-time and historical exchange rates, currency conversion, time series data, and fluctuation analysis for 45+ world currencies. Data is aggregated from multiple trusted sources including central banks.
We strive to provide accurate and reliable data; however, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the exchange rate data provided. Exchange rates are for informational purposes and should not be used as the sole basis for financial transactions without independent verification.
3. User Accounts
To access the Service, you must create an account and obtain an API key. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and API key. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Keep your API key secure and not share it with unauthorized parties
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used for fraudulent or illegal purposes.
4. API Usage

5. Pricing and Payment
The Service offers both free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) according to the pricing published on our website. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees.

- Payment is processed through our third-party payment provider (Paddle)
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the billing period
- Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis at our discretion
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by XRates API and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without prior written consent.
You retain ownership of any applications or software you develop using the API. However, the exchange rate data provided through the API remains the property of XRates API and its data sources, and is licensed to you solely for use in accordance with these Terms and your subscription plan.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, XRates API shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:
- Your use or inability to use the Service
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
- Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service
- Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in the exchange rate data
- Any financial decisions made based on data obtained through the Service
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
8. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may cancel your subscription from your dashboard and stop using the Service. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which XRates API operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
